On June 9, 2014, Fırat Küçükersen set off on a bicycle tour around Turkey from Eskişehir. He cycled almost 9,000 kilometers and photographed the regions he visited during his six-and-a-half month journey. His photos are now on display at the exhibition "7 Bölge 1 Hikaye Arda Kalanlar" (7 Regions, 1 Story and the Rest) at Anadolu University's Student Center Exhibition Hall. Speaking during the opening ceremony, Küçükersen said this journey was not a holiday or an escape. "It was a decision to find lives and mix with culture in the highlands, villages, mountains and local coffee houses. I set off on this journey to take a short breath," he said. Although he encountered difficulties, Küçükersen said there is no need to have much experience when making such a long journey. He did not have a proper road map, but asked for directions from the local people he met. The displayed photos are on sale and the revenue will be donated to a foundation.
