The 22nd International Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival commenced on Saturday in Antalya. The gala concert received great attention, as it featured sopranos Görkem Ezgi Yıldırım and Dimitrinka Raycheva, mezzo-soprano Elena Chavdarova Isa, tenor Ünüşan Kuloğlu and baritone Plamen Dimitrov accompanied by the Mersin-Antalya State Opera and Ballet Orchestra conducted by maestro Borislav Ivanov. The repertoire included the works of world famous composers Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Selman Ada and Georges Bizet. The festival, which also features the Korean National Opera and soloists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tatarstan, will conclude on Sept. 24.
