William Shakespeare will be commemorated on the 400th anniversary of his death with various concerts in Istanbul, Bursa and Ayvalık. The Shakespeare-inspired compositions by British Baroque composers will be performed in a series of concerts titled "Shakespeare and Music." The first concert of the series will take place on April 23 at Istanbul's Pera Museum under the art directorship of Aydın Büke. Soprano Linet Şaul of the İzmir Baroque Ensemble, viola da gamba artist Bülent Oral and lute player Diego Leveric will be accompanied onstage by veteran actress Ayşe Lebriz Berkem who will read a text composed of some of Shakespeare's plays and sonnets. The concert series will take place in Bursa on April 24 and Ayvalık on April 25 following the performance in Istanbul.
