‘Dichterliebe' to be performed in Istanbul

"Dichterliebe" (A Poet's Love) will offer an extraordinary stage experience to opera lovers on May 12 at the Leyla Gencer Opera and Arts Center. Composed by Robert Schumann in 1840, "Dichterliebe" consists of 16 lieds - classical music songs that are adapted from Romantic German poems to music - and is considered one of the most romantic and passionate compositions of German Romantic music. The songs, which were composed based on the poetry of German poet Heinrich Heine, will be performed by pianist Melin Molla and tenor Laçin Modiri.
