Film depicts struggle, achievement through football

Istanbul's SALT Galata will screen director Susan Koch and Jeff Werner's film "Kicking It" on Nov. 3 at the art institutions building in Galata. In the summer of 2006, while the football world's attention was focused on Germany, thousands of players around the world were training to compete in another global football event - The Homeless World Cup. Narrated by Colin Farrell, the 2008 film "Kicking It" follows seven players in their struggles and trials for achievement. Shattering misconceptions about the homeless and those living at the edge of society, the story evolves through these characters' passage of self-discovery and the power of sport in changing their lives.
