The subsidy was announced in the Official Gazette under the title, "Notice on Supporting Agriculture-Based Economic Investments as Part of the Program for Supporting Urban Development Investments," initiated by the Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry. With the notice, more importance will be assigned to the protection of natural resources and the environment and will aid in regulating the rules and procedures for increasing the rural income level as well as supporting SMEs engaged in agriculture. Fifty percent of the costs of such projects will be covered by the government through grant applications. The remaining 50 percent will come from applicants' own resources.
