Spor Toto Super League's Beşiktaş are continuing their title defense with their seven new transfers. The Black Eagles beat Kardemir Karabükspor 3-1 on Saturday at the Vodafone Arena in Istanbul when they won their fifth consecutive match at home and raised their points to seven in the Super League. The new transfers, Gökhan Gönül, Caner Erkin, Talisca, Vincent Aboubakar, Gökhan İnler, Fabricio Agosto Ramirez and Adriano Correia, wore the black and white team's jersey for the first time. Beşiktaş's goals were scored by Cenk Tosun in the 26th minute, Ömer Şişmanoğlu in the 30th minute and Oğuzhan Özyakup in the 82nd minute (via a penalty).

Beşiktaş coach Şenol Güneş said after the match, "We are a good team and deserved to win. We proved what we can do when we integrate with our fans."

On the Benfica match that they will play in the Champions League on Wednesday Güneş said: "We have 24 players. Every one of them is precious and important. The match against Benfica will be difficult because we won't be able to rest much. That's why we demanded to play the Super League match on Friday. But unfortunately it wasn't accepted. So we will train at 10am and then go to Portugal. We will see what we can do on Wednesday."

Elsewhere, the other favorite of the Super League, Galatasaray, lost two points in an away match at Kayseri on Saturday. Galatasaray's Yasin Öztekin scored in the 12th minute and gave his team the lead against Kayserispor. However, Kayserispor's Welliton balanced the score in the 40th minute and the match ended in a draw. After this result, Galatasaray raised their points to seven, Kayserispor to two.
