While some of us are home sleeping away the endless hours just counting down the seconds until the sunsets so we can break our fasts and feast away, Turkey's security forces are hard at work trying to clean the country's terror-ridden southeast without missing a beat in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU. The group resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, around 500 security personnel, including troops, police officers, and village guards, have been murdered, and over 5,000 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
