The tales of ancient Anatolian civilizations will be told to visitors of all ages upon completion of relief, restoration and restitution works at the Kolağası Mansion in the central Anatolian province of Çankırı.
Situated in the city's historic district, the triple-story mansion is undergoing renovations that preserve the architectural features of ancient Çankırı homes. The basement of the mansion will also be restored and landscaping will bring the final touches to this historic transformation, which is slated for completion by next year, according to the Çankırı Municipality.
Mayor Irfan Dinç said the project preserves intangible cultural heritage and will pass it on to future generations: "Once the project is completed, the Museum of Tales will be an exemplary icon in Turkey. We will share tales originating in Anatolian lands to visitors at the museum, which will bring people together, promote healing and offer a new perspective on our lives today. We care about helping people - especially children - as they learn about culture. Hence, we want Anatolian tales to be told to our children with the Museum of Tales. In doing so, Anatolian tales will be passed onto future generations. The museum will also feature sculptures of the heroic figures of these ancient tales."
