A Turkish daily claimed that the May 4 killing of an unidentified Turkish-Iranian national in Dubai was linked to a feud between rival gangs in Turkey. The body of a Turkish citizen of Iranian origin was found in Dubai Marina.
Emirati officials have announced that two Canadian and one Iranian citizen were wanted for the murder of the man, who was found with nine bullet wounds in his body. Dubai police officials have said that the victim was tied to the murder of a young woman in Turkey. Vatan daily claimed the young woman in question was the 19-year-old daughter of Naci Şerifi Zindaşti, Arzu Şerifi Zindaşti, who was killed along with her driver in 2014 in Istanbul.
Naci Şerifi Zindaşti is a Turkish businessman of Iranian origin who was convicted of drug smuggling in the past and an underworld figure targeted by a rival gang according to the media. Zindaşti was targeted by the gang after he tipped off the police about a drug shipment, media outlets reported. The businessman has acknowledged the assailants sought to kill him, thinking he was traveling in the car his daughter was in when they opened fire.
