New information has surfaced in the Yenibosna police station attack that left 10 people injured on Oct. 6, revealing that one of the suspects was previously involved in terrorist activity including digging ditches and engaging in armed conflict with security forces in the southeastern province of Şırnak, according to Habertürk daily.
Ekrem Gün, one of six PKK members who were detained on the day of the attack, stands accused of facilitating well-known tactics of the PKK including setting up barricades and blocking Turkish security forces from accessing urban areas.
After it was revealed in early September that municipal vehicles had been used by the PKK to facilitate the PKK's illegal acts, 25 mayors of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) local wing, the pro-PKK Democratic Regions' Party (DBP), were replaced by state administrators in a governmental decree early Sunday.
Meanwhile, 12 terrorists who were found dead in the rural outskirts of the Çukurca district in Hakkari province have been identified as the masterminds of PKK attacks, involved in bombing attacks aimed at military convoys as they passed on a local highway.
