A court in capital Ankara has ordered the release of Semih Özakça and placed him under judiciary control, ruling for the continued detention of Nuriye Gülmen in a hearing on Friday.
Özakça and Gülmen were arrested on terror charges and have been on hunger strike for the last six months since they were suspended from their civil servant jobs for suspected terror links.
Özakça will be fitted with an electronic bracelet under the order of the court, media outlets reported.
Gülmen and Özakça were arrested in late May, on the 75th day of their hunger strike in Ankara to protest their suspension.
Both defendants are accused of being members of the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) terrorist group.
