Police arrested a taxi driver in Istanbul for stealing money from two Brazilian tourists who were his fares.
Igor Mateus Avila Pires and his wife Marcia took the cab of the unidentified driver to their hotel in the city's Karaköy district but the driver dropped them in front of another hotel, although the couple gave him the name and address of the hotel.
The tourists told police the driver also asked for more money even though they paid more than the price on the taxi-meter. When they refused to pay more, the driver grabbed the wallet of Pires and forced them out of the car as he sped away. The driver was caught after the tourists filed a complaint with the police.
