A truck collided into a "no trucks and buses allowed" sign in Istanbul's Beylikdüzü district on Tuesday, causing the sign to fall onto the truck and jamming traffic for two and a half hours.
The incident took place on Edirne direction of D-100 (E-5) highway, one of two main arteries connecting Istanbul with Thrace.
The driver of a truck carrying food products tried to pass under the sign placed to block vehicles higher than three meters, causing it to collapse over the haulage part of the truck.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality units managed to remove the sign in two and a half hours using welding machines.
Luckily, no one was injured in the incident.
