Turkey will celebrate Mother's Day this Sunday. Like most countries in the world, the day is celebrated in Turkey on the second Sunday of May. The culture of celebrating Mother's Day evolved in the U.S., then exported to other countries in the early 20th century. Istanbul will host many events on Sunday in honor of Mother's Day, mostly in shopping malls or five-star hotels in the city, for those who want to give a nice surprise to their mothers with a beautiful breakfast in a restaurant, or take her to a cultural activity.
