Seven Turkish artists have been invited to the Salzburg Summer Academy of Fine Arts, one of Austria's prestigious art institutions, taking place from July 20 to Aug. 29. Celebrating its 62nd anniversary, the summer academy will host about 300 experts from 50 countries.

Turkish guest artists are Fatma Çolakoğlu, Merve Dündar, Annie Özsaraç, Elvan Serin, Mehmet Sülek, Ayşe Damla Turfanda and Mediha Didem Türemen.

During the courses, participants visit 20 different sites in Salzburg like the Hohensalzburg Fortress and the Kiefer quarry in Furstenbrunn. Referenced as the oldest "art vision school" of its kind in Europe, the academy focuses on art production as well as creativity and writing.

Founded by Austrian painter, poet and theater script Oskar Kokoschka, the Salzburg Academy will offer workshops in arts and other related subjects in upcoming days. So far, the academy hosted important names of the Turkish arts scene like Adnan Çoker, Ergin İnan, Mustafa Pilevneli, Balkan Naci İslimyeli, Tülin Onat, Gül Derman, Fevzi Karakoç, Tayfun Erdoğmuş and Gülsün Karamustafa.
