The "Long Live Turkey" campaign, initiated by young activists from the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue, aims to increase global support for Turkey's war on terror as well as attract interest in social media. Tens of thousands of young users have watched and shared the campaign video on YouTube and Facebook. The campaign's "#LongLiveTurkey" hashtag is second on Twitter's world trend topic list.Ambassador Elşad İskandarov, the president of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue, said: "Representing 57 Islamic countries' youth institutions, forum members support Turkey, the country that has become the hope of the Islamic region in recent years, but suffers from terror attacks. The campaign aims to increase worldwide support for Turkey and show that terror attacks not only affect the country but the whole Islamic region."
He said that the Muslim world finds it surprising that certain circles in Turkey and around the world consider terror attacks to be legitimate. İskandarov said his group is very motivated and believes they did a good job convincing forum members to want to support Turkey with this campaign, which tries to lower the number of youths involved in terror organizations.
More details about the campaign are available on the forum's social media platforms: Facebook (@OIC.Youth), Twitter (OIC_Youth) and Youtube (OIC_Youth).
