Water insoluble aquarium accessories have been in production at a workshop in the province of Bursa with Fikret Tuna and his wife, along with seven other employees, working to create the objects.
Earning his bread from ceramics for 40 years, Tuna produces hot pots, terra cotta and decorative household appliances in his workshop, along with accessories in the shape of village houses, castles, fairy chimneys, and seashells for aquarium fish tanks.
Indicating their efforts in keeping one of the oldest professions in Anatolia alive, Tuna said that they send their products to different regions in Turkey. He also spoke about the crafting process and said that, they retouch accessories after giving shape to the objects. The earthenware accessories don't erode in water because they have been exposed to a special heating process. Finally, shaped items are left under the sun to dry. He added that they aim to generalize the usage of these kinds of earthenware objects.
