Zero Waste Turkey, a group of expats supporting a waste-free lifestyle, will hold its first-ever flea market to help Syrian refugees at St. Helene's Chapel near the British Consulate General Istanbul on Jan. 17 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The flea market will feature good-as-new, second-hand, pre-owned, once-loved, recycled and upcycled items. Those interested can bring books, toys, clothes, accessories, jewelry and bric-a-back.
Since the flea market will be a zero-waste event, participants and shoppers are advised to bring their own shopping bags and food containers in case they get hungry, and there will be some discounts for using your own bag and container. The proceeds from each stall will go directly to St Helena's Hostel for refugees in Istanbul.
