How about going offline and turning off the world for two days? The upcoming Sleep Festival in the Aegean province of İzmir's Buca district is urging its guests to turn off their cellphones, tablets and PCs for two days from June 4 to June 5.
Participants who are spotted using technological devices over the course of the two days will be asked to leave the festival. Guests will be sleeping in tents and no accommodation fee is required. For two days, festival participants will read books, listen to music, play sports, do yoga and eat specially prepared meals.
The Sleep Festival is a small attempt to encourage people to avoid becoming addicted to technology. Side events and meals will also be free. Participants can enter the festival area on June 3 starting from 6:00 p.m. and the festival will end on June 5. Families are encouraged to bring their children as well.
