First Turkish-Arab TV series to debut during Ramadan

The first Turk-Arab co-produced TV series "Big House" will be broadcasted soon on TRT Arabic. According to the statement released from Turkish Radio and Television Association (TRT), TRT Arabic, which broadcasts in Arabic and addresses to a vast Arabic-speaking demographic of roughly 350 million people, will begin screening "Big House" starting during the holy month of Ramadan. The series will feature stories mirroring Turk-Arab relationships, and recounts comic events in an interesting and surprising way. "Big House" will tell the story of seven families from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Morocco, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon, and how their paths cross in Turkey. The new TV series from TRT al-Arabic will kick off with a WhatsApp message sent by a Turkish boy, which goes viral in Arab countries, leading to a series of comic events. "Big House" is currently being shot by a crew of 120, including Turkish and Arab crewmembers. It will have 30 episodes, each 45 minutes long. As well as talking about family lives, the series will feature the story of a Saudi billionaire in search of his roots stretching back to the Ottoman Empire. "Big House" stars in leading roles include: Bedir Yolucu, Ezgi Sümer and Serdal Genç from Turkey; Esma Saib Efendi, Hasen Asiri, Faysal al-Umeri, Abdulaziz al Sikarin and Nur Huseyn from Saudi Arabia; Meryem Huseyn, Muna Huseyn and Ubeyr Khadar from Kuwait; Faydam Elham Boaziz, Nesrin Katrub, İman al Garbi, Halime al Saidi, İbtisam Okadir and Abdurrahim al Gazvani from Morocco; Dime Beya, Muhammed al Haci, Cirar Aga, Şadi Yusuf, Hela Siyasena and Betül Muhammed from Syria; Hamid Merzuk, Martina Adil and Melik Jamal from Egypt; and Rabi Zain from Lebanon. Well-known actor and comedian Hasan Asari, the founder of Sadaf Production, is one of the production companies that shoot the series. The series, which is currently being shot in Antalya, will be broadcast each night in Ramadan after iftar, the sunset fast-breaking meal eaten by Muslims.
