Designed as low impact rebound shoes to provide a safe platform for jogging and certain exercises that may be harmful for the joints, Kangoo Jumps are becoming a hit in Turkey, especially in weight-loss exercises. These boots are also used by NASA astronauts, which they use after returning from missions to regain lost bone mass and muscle mass during space travel.

Erdal Yurdakul, a fitness trainer based in the Kemer district of southern Antalya province, gives fitness classes to locals in which all participants use Kangoo Jumps. Initially used in the U.S. and Europe for weight-loss purposes, Kangoo Jumps are now becoming popular in Turkey as well as in other countries. Yurdakul said tourists visiting Antalya are quite interested in his fitness classes.

Following an hour-long Kangoo Jumps exercise, a trainee can lose about 1,200 calories, Yurdakul said. Participants both enjoy music and keeping themselves fit while exercising wearing the Kangoo Jumps boots. "A pair of Kangoo Jumps can carry a person up to 140 kilograms. It is also much quicker to lose weight with this method. Everyone can try this," Yurdakul said.

Kangoo Jumps are fastened like roller blades or ski boots, with quick-release buckles and sturdy straps. They are used by athletes recovering from leg injuries to participate in sporting events. Different scientific studies conducted by the Swiss Federation Institute of Technology compared conventional running shoes and Kangoo Jumps rebound shoes. They demonstrated that the patented Impact Protection System (IPS) of Kangoo Jumps rebound shoes not only helps increase impact time, but also reduces the impact stress by up to 80 percent while protecting a person`s ankles, knees, hips, lower back, and spine.
