15-year-old attempts suicide because of boyfriend’s ‘stinginess’ on Valentine’s Day

A female middle school student (15) attempted to commit suicide on Sunday in Cairo, Egypt due to her boyfriend's "stinginess" and jumped off the 12th floor of a building, the Yemen press agency reported on its website on Tuesday.
The girl was severely injured and rushed into surgery with internal bleeding, according to the reports.
According to her mother's statements to the reporters, she wanted to meet with her daughter's boyfriend, and asked to meet him along with her daughter in a café. She knew that the boy was "stingy" all along and wanted to prove this to her daughter, so she requested the boyfriend ask for the bill, according to her statements.
When the boy found out that the bill was too high, he argued with the waiters, and caused her daughter to be "embarrassed", the mother said, as a result of which she [daughter] developed "psychological problems" and locked herself in her room.
The mother wanted to help her daughter with her depression, taking her outside the house on the Valentine's Day, she said in her statements.
"After we came back home, my daughter jumped off the 12th floor," she said.
