Salon İKSV offers a week colored by international musicians performing across various genres, such as Scandinavian tranquility music, psychedelic and baroque pop
Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation's (İKSV) Salon will present an array of concerts this week performed by the Michael Price Trio, which brings classical tones together, Thomas Dybdahl, who is known for his tranquil Scandinavian style, psychedelic and baroque pop musician Jacco Gardner and Turkish singer Gaye Su Akyol, who has garnered attention with her alternative style.
Michael Price Trio
Composed of cello, piano and soprano vocals, the Michael Price Trio was founded in Berlin in 2014. The trio, which has produced multi-layered music with their solo and acoustic instrumental performances, was formed by British composer and producer Michael Price. Composing new works for dance and opera performances, Price worked on the soundtracks of Academy Award nominee "Children of Men," "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," "Love Actually" and "Bridget Jones' Dairy." He also contributed to the soundtrack of the TV series "Sherlock," which is broadcasted on the BBC. Price won various awards for his work on the soundtrack of the first Lord of the Rings film and worked hand-in-hand with Hollywood's famous composer Max Richter. The tickets for the trio's performance tonight cost TL 35 ($12) for adults and TL 25 for students. You can purchase tickets from Biletix or the main counter of İKSV.

Thomas Dybdahl
Norway-based singer and songwriter Thomas Dybdahl launched his career as the guitarist of the band Quadraphonics. He caused a stir among music critics with his first solo album "That Great October Sound," which was released in 2002. Compared to legendary musicians such as Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley, Dybdahl worked with Jaga Jazzist on "The National Bank" project. The artist found himself under the spotlight with his song "Damn Heart," which was featured in the film "En Soup" that won the Silver Bear Award at the International Berlin Film Festival. The artist accompanied Tori Amos during her world tour as her opening act, and contributed three tracks to Morcheeba's album "Dive Deep" with his vocals. Dybdahl will enchant music lovers with his songs about loneliness and love tomorrow at İKSV Salon at 9:30 p.m. Tickets for adults are TL 30-40 and TL 25 for students.

%100 Music: Jacco Gardner and opening act Palmiyeler
Born in Amsterdam in 1988, psychedelic and baroque pop musician Jacco Gardner released his first EP "Clear the Air" in 2012. Gardner, who discovered his own style after listening to Van Syke Parks and Syd Barrett, introduced his first studio album "Cabinet of Curiosities" in 2013. He released his latest album "Hypnophobia" in April 2015. Palmiyeler, which was founded by Mertcan Mertbilek, Tarık Töre and Rana Uludağ in 2013, blends Californian sounds with the palm trees of the Aegean province of İzmir. Palmiyeler, which has performed at various festivals throughout 2015, will bring their energy and surf music to Salon. As a part of %100 Music, Palmiyeler will perform at 9:30 p.m. and will hand over the stage to Gardner at 10:30 p.m. Tickets cost TL 45 for adults and TL 35 for students.

Gaye Su Akyol and Bubituzak
Gaye Su Akyol entered to the music industry with her band "Seni Görmem İmkansız" but has continued her musical journey solo. The artist gained fame among music lovers with her first solo studio album "Develerle Yaşıyorum," which was released in 2014. The artist was applauded for her performance at the 22nd Istanbul Jazz Festival, and comes to İKSV Salon to sweep the audience off their feet. Formed by Ali Güçlü Şimşek, Görkem Karabudak and Emrah Atay, Bubituzak worked with prominent figures of the Turkish music industry such as Kara Orkestra, Çilekeş and Yasemin Mori. The band introduced their first studio album "Uzay Yolları Taşlı" in 2014. The talented local musicians will perform on Dec. 12, and tickets for the concert are TL 40 for adults and TL 30 for students.
