Vocalists promise rich 20-day program in Istanbul

The 4th Akbank Sanat Contemporary Vocal Days will be held this year from May 10 to May 30, bringing various musicians together for a memorable celebration of music.

The concerts will kick off on May 10 with one of the most successful jazz vocalists of all time, Sarah Lancman, along with famous pianist Giovanni Mirabassi.

These performances will be followed by İstanbulied, a project prepared by Ekin Bezirganoğlu and pianist Senem Zeynep Ercan on Tuesday, May 16.

Moreover, vocal and double bass duo Le Bang Bang will take the stage on Wednesday, May 24, performing famous pop and rock songs.

Within the scope of Akbank Sanat Contemporary Vocal Days, Prof. Georg Grün will hold a master class on music of the Romantic period on May 13, giving a public rehearsal.

Meanwhile, the band the Rezonans (Resonance) will greet fans at the Emek Pera stage where they will perform songs by German composers from the Romantic period.



Sarah Lancman will kick off Contemporary Vocal Days on Wednesday, May 10, performing songs from her album "Inspiring Love" that was recently released in October 2016.

The famous artist who released her debut album "Dark" in 2015 will also perform with Giovanni Mirabassi, winner of the 17 Golden Records and the Grand Prix of the Academie du Jazz Django Reinhardt Jazz Academy.

One of the leading names among German choral conductors Professor Georg Grün will hold a master class on May 13, focusing on composers from the Romantic period including Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn, among others.

The class focuses on the significant contributions of composers to the Romantic period as well as famous conductors and vocalists of the period.

Grün will also give a public performance with Turkey's award-winning choir, Rezonans.

Mezzo-soprano Ekin Bezirganoğlu and pianist Senem Zeynep Ercan's band İstanbulied will take the stage on Tuesday, May 16 with an extensive repertoire in a performance that will include poetry, music, voice and piano.

Le Bang Bang, the famous duo including vocalist Stefanie Boltz and double bassist Sven Fuller, will greet music lovers on Wednesday, May 24 for an extraordinary concert.

The pair will perform popular pop and rock songs in their unique style.

The 4th Akbank Sanat Contemporary Vocal Days will draw to a close with Turkey's first contemporary vocal quartet, Barbershop Istanbul, the leading vocal quartet of Turkey.

Comprised by Kaan Bayır, Erdinç Hasılcıoğulları, Onur Zorluuysal and Enis Turhan, Barbershop Istanbul's performance on Tuesday, May 30 will be the final performance of the event.
