On Tuesday, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has cancelled an official visit to Yemen because of the recent unrest in Yemen's capital, Sanaa.
Çavuşoğlu announced his decision following a meeting with his Qatari counterpart Khaled bin Mohamed al-Attiyah.
He was supposed to hold meetings on Tuesday with Yemen's Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Saidi, President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah.
Violence has gripped Yemen's capital, Sanaa, since Monday and has been described as a coup. Yemeni authorities say Shiite Houthi rebels are shelling the presidential residence and have raided the presidential palace.
