One Turkish soldier killed on Saturday during clashes against PKK terrorist group in Turkey's Cizre district, Turkish military said.
The clashes have been taking place in Cizre district, which has been under imposed curfew, between the security forces closing ditches and trenches and the PKK terrorists.
The terrorists opened fire on the security forces, killing one soldier. The operations continue in the town.
Security forces have killed 544 PKK terrorists in three districts in Diyarbakır and Şırnak since counterterror operations began on Dec. 15, according to Turkish General Staff's latest statement issued Saturday.
The PKK, which is considered a terrorist organization by the U.S. and EU, resumed its 30-year war with the Turkish state in late July of last year.
