Deputy Prime Minister Tuğrul Türkeş said on Sunday that regardless of whether the "yes" or "no" vote prevails in the April 16 referendum, peace in Turkey will continue.
Speaking at a press conference at the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center in London, Türkeş said that this was not a political race, rather a process to find solutions to a political issue by relying on people's will.
"When this issue came to our agenda, we indicated the necessity of taking the decision to the people, since it is a substantial change, and despite the fact that the assembly have voted in favor of the change unanimously. I would like to emphasize on this point once more. At the end, this is a ballot initiative," he said."Regardless of the outcome, in the morning of April 17, Turkey will continue to have peace," Türkeş concluded.
