As the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) enters into an era of revitalization with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's chairmanship, the party's administrative bodies have prepared a comprehensive assessment report on its municipalities as well as provincial organizations.
According to the Turkish Hürriyet daily's report, the AK Party's provincial administrations have also included the performance of its members from the April 16 constitutional referendum campaigning process.
In his speech at the extraordinary congress of the AK Party last week, President Erdoğan affirmed that the party had "acknowledged" the message conveyed from the no-voters of the April 16 referendum.
Erdoğan, also in his remarks, indicated a comprehensive change and revitalization within the party towards the upcoming 2019 elections.
On that note, the party's local administrations have evaluated the AK Party mayors in the scope of "investments, public relations, public improvements, satisfaction and likeability."
Whether the municipalities have fulfilled their election pledges and their performance in that regard were also included in the report as their success trend over the years was laid out.
A similar report was also conducted regarding the party's provincial and district administrations. The results from the report will be addressed at the party's ordinary congress next year as AK Party provincial and district heads are currently undergoing the same assessment process.
The elimination process within these organizations is set to begin with district administrations in June and will continue until mid-2018. The party administration prepared an assessment report on itself and presented it to President Erdoğan.
President Erdoğan said yesterday the AK Party will determine its Central Executive Committee (MYK) after his Brussels visit. Meanwhile, following President Erdoğan's return as chairman of the AK Party, Prime Minister Yıldırım has been unanimously voted yesterday as parliamentary group chairman during a closed parliamentary group meeting Wednesday.
