The contenders for the group stage of the Champions League were determined by a drawing in Monaco. Trabzonspor’s first game is against Inter in Milan on September 14th.

Trabzonspor has fallen into Group B with the likes of Italy's Inter, Russia's CSKA Moscow and French champions Lille. Traditionally Trabzonspor has always faced challenging contenders such Liverpool last season and Benfica for this season's Champions League eliminations. This time, the team is hoping for a break.
According to club chairman Sadri Şener, these are the best draw results Trabzonspor could have expected. "All of our competitors in the Champions League are very strong. "We pulled the best draw out of all of the teams."

September 27th….. Trabzonspor-Lille
October 18th….. CSKA Moscow-Trabzonspor

November 2nd….. Trabzonspor-CSKA Moscow
