The giants of golf are in Turkey once again. One of the final legs of the European Tour Rolex series, the Turkish Airlines Open, starts today in Belek Antalya, which was named the best golf destination in Europe. With pro-am games before the tour, major amateur players of Turkey once again had the chance to appear on the same stage with star players. In previous years, the likes of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy competed in the tournament that is held at Regnum Carya Golf Course.

In the tournament that boasts a total reward of $7 million, players ranked in the top 70 of the Race to Dubai list can participate in the European Tour. Gold medalist Justin Rose and silver medalist Henrik Stenson from the 2016 Rio Olympics will be competing this year in the tournament. The last champion of the Turkish Airlines Open, Thorbjorn Olesen, will also being taking part in the competition to defend his title. He will be joined by Padraig Harrington, who has three major championships in his career, Europe's Ryder Cup icon Ian Poulter, Tommy Fletwood, who is on the top of the Race to Dubai list, and English golf player Tayrel Hatton, one of the ambitious players in the European Tour.

Be sure to stop by if you want to experience the excitement of the tournament first-hand. The weather in Antalya is a bit windy but the sun doesn't stop shining so don't worry. The final series will end on Sunday, Nov. 5 so if you want to see professional golfers in action, you are still not too late. You can buy your tickets on Biletix.com, but hurry.

If women come togetherIn the previous article, we told you about the formation of Ladies Go 4 Golf, a series that was formed by the female captains of golf clubs throughout Turkey. The first leg of the series was very colorful and exciting. The second leg, the Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament, will take place this weekend in Ankara. This tournament has been combined with the Women's Tournament, which was started by the Istanbul Golf Club in 1959. At the end of the series, the winner will have her name go down in history. We wish success to all players in advance.Republic Day celebrated on the fieldsThis year marked the 94th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. Therefore, the usually green golf courses were painted red this weekend. The Ankara Golf Club, Bodrum Golf Club, Klassis Golf Club with their Republic Day Cup, and the Kemer Country Golf Club with its Royce Rolls Tournament, celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm.
