Eighteen Turkish tourism companies are taking part in Saudi Arabia's annual Riyadh Travel Fair, which ends on Friday. Salih Ozer, an official at Turkey's Dubai-based cultural and information office, told Anadolu Agency (AA) on Wednesday that the event is important because it will help bring Saudi tourists to Turkey.
Noting that 450,000 Saudis visited Turkey in 2015, Ozer said," Saudi tourists prefer to visit [the provinces of] Bursa and Trabzon" Ozer also said Turkish Airlines (THY) will soon launch direct flights between Riyadh and the Turkish province of Trabzon.
Abdullah Damar, head of Bursa's culture and tourism office, said Bursa has become the top destination for Saudi tourists in Turkey due to its natural beauty, in addition to the fact that Bursa is a hub of medical and thermal-spa tourism.
