It is now officially possible to paraglide from the mythological Tahtalı Mountain in Antalaya’s Kemer district.

After an extensive series of test flights, the Olympos Cable Car peak facilities have reaped very successful results and all necessary permission has been granted to allow for paragliding off of Tahtali Mountain.
Noted as being one of the world's highest mountains located closest to the sea, Tahtalı Mountain's 2,365 meter peak will soon be a prime spot for paragliding. Having completed the technical infrastructure in accordance to international standards as well all legal procedures, the long-winded project embarked upon by Olympos Cable Car Operators and Escape Paragliding, will be adding a brand new activity to Antalya's tourism offerings. Paraglide enthusiasts, who take off from Tahtalı peak in either a single or tandem paraglide, will be able to enjoy at least 30 minutes of a visual feast in the air before landing on the beach in either Tekirova or Çamyuva. This is said to be the highest paraglide take-off point with a beach landing in the world.

ZEUS' WINGS

The paraglides used at Tahtalı Mountain will be given names attributed to the rich mythological roots of the region, such as Zeus, Hera, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Poseidon and Dionysus to name a few. In the future the location is anticipated to act as a venue hosting world championship competitions and paragliding festivals. This project is expected to draw tourists interested in extreme sports to the region.
