ISTANBUL — Fine dining is an experience that is often connected to the environment in which you dine, the music in the background and the food that is meticulously prepared by some world renowned chef and delicately set on the fine tablecloth before you. Creative teams of people have set out to change the way in which you experience your meal in a way you may have never considered. The World of the Blind, a restaurant in Galata which was established in 2008 has become popular for its two and a half hour experience of "Eating in the dark." All employees (except the chefs) are blind. Blind waiters, musicians and workers invite you to have dinner in the dark. The pitch dark restaurant leaves you to depend on your four remaining senses to enjoy your experience. They offer a fixed menu with entrée, warm starter, main course, dessert, and unlimited wine or non-alcoholic beverages.

Entry fee is 95 TL per person. The duration of the program is two and a half hours. Guests who don't have a reservation should be at the restaurant half an hour early. Guest who have a phobia of darkness, who are allergic to any foods or drinks, vegetarian, diabetic are kindly requested to inform the restaurant by phone or email two days before. Cellphones, lighters, flammable materials and object that emanate light will be requested to be left in an envelope upon entrance and will be delivered to you in the same way at the end of the night.
