Wanted by Interpol for suspected involvement in an ‘illegal organ trafficking organization’, Dr. Yusuf Erçin Sönmez was arrested in Istanbul.
Dr. Sönmez, who was wanted by Interpol for illegally conducting organ transfers to rich people for a significant amount of money, was arrested yesterday in Istanbul.
Spending the night in the Istanbul Police Department on Vatan Street, after his processing was completed, Dr. Sönmez was then transferred to the Istanbul Court in Sultanahmet. Upon his exit from the station, Yusuf Erçin Sönmez refused to answer any questions from the press.
