The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) has returned 65 historical artifacts belonging to 6th century B.C. to Turkey.
The Turkish officials had received 48 ancient arrowheads, 15 ancient coins, one ancient ring, and one ancient metal horse trapping cheek pieces, said a news statement released by ICE.
The priceless historical artifacts were said to be stolen from Turkey in February 2013, and illegally smuggled into US with false documentation. According to a statement released on ICE's website, the historical artifacts were seized by ICE at Newark International Airport after a detailed investigation conducted.
HSI returned the collection of the smuggled historical artifacts holding priceless national value to Turkish Consulate in Manhattan in a joint ceremony.
