Northwestern Turkey to be hit by heavy rain after the storm

The Meteorological Department yesterday released a statement warning residents of the Marmara region that heavy rain is expected starting Sunday evening.

Rainfall will affect Istanbul, Bursa, Kocaeli, Yalova and Çanakkale provinces, with precipitation reaching 75 millimeters per square meter in certain regions.

The department said heavy rains, accompanied by strong winds, would produce muddy rainwater and affect visibility.
