A young Swedish woman was shot dead outside a local bar in Istanbul Sunday night when a gunman opened fire indiscriminately because he was not allowed entry, local media reported on Monday.
The Swedish consulate in Istanbul also confirmed the death of one of its citizens.
According to media reports, the Swedish citizen, Maggie Bogda, was smoking outside a bar in Istanbul's Beşiktaş district when a gunman who was refused entry opened fire.
The armed man was accompanied by another person who fled the scene in a car after the shooting, the reports added.
Bogda was a hairdresser who reportedly came to Istanbul on holiday three days ago with a group of friends.
Police used security cameras installed at the bar to identify the suspects and are making raids to catch them, it added.
