A gunman has been arrested by Turkish police on Monday after he took a group of people hostage at a construction company in Istanbul.
Details are still emerging but the 55-year-old man, identified only as 'Ahmet K.' is reported to have held a group captive in the Bayrampaşa district of Istanbul.
According to initial reports, the gunman had been in a dispute with the managers of a construction project in the area.
Police, after taking strict security measures around the scene, eventually persuaded the hostage-taker to surrender and took him into custody, preventing any deaths or injuries.
