Turkish business group to build hospital in Palestine

The head of the Turkish Industrialist Businesswomen and Businessmen Confederation (SANKON), Nezaket Emine Atasoy, met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday to present him with the project for a 400-bed capacity hospital the group is planning to build in the West Bank. Atasoy, who visited Abbas in his Ramallah office, explained to the Palestinian president their intention to build the hospital as a gift to the Palestinian people. Abbas, who was with Deputy Prime Minister Ziad Abu Amr, Health Minister Jawad Awaad, thanked Atasoy and said he was sure the project would provide a boost to the local health sector. He also ordered the easing of the bureaucratic process to ensure the speedy completion of the project.
