One DAESH member was killed and 21 people, including nine children, were detained trying to cross the border with Syria in the southern province of Kilis, the Turkish military said Wednesday.
The near 100-kilometer border strip between Turkey and Syria located west of the Euphrates River up to the northern Syrian town of Azaz is the only remanining part of the border controlled by the DAESH terror organization.
Turkey has long suggested to establish a safe zone at the south of that border section.
