An Iranian tourist, who visited Istanbul with her family, fell in Istanbul's Bosporus strait on Sunday while she was taking a selfie, reported Doğan news agency.
Reportedly, the incident occurred at around 1 p.m. local time at the city's Üsküdar coast.
The windy coast caused the woman to reportedly lose her balance, and fall into the sea. Sahar Daneshi was quickly taken out of the cold water thanks to those around her. People threw a rope in her direction, which she hung onto and was pulled to safety.
The woman was immediately taken to a hospital for further treatment. Her health was reported to be in a good condition.
One eyewitness told the reporters, "She tripped and fell while taking a picture. Then we threw her a rope, and saved her. Her family was also with her."
