Police prevent alleged terrorist attack in Istanbul

Istanbul Police shot a suspected suicide bomber near Dolmabahçe Palace late Saturday.
According to reports, police wanted to stop a man, who had a backpack and was suspected for being a suicide bomber, but the man did not listen to the police's warnings.
Police then shot the suspect, and detonated his bag.
The suspect was taken to a hospital, while police have taken security precautions in the area.
Dolmabahçe Palace, popular with tourists and home to the prime minister's Istanbul offices had previously been targeted by terrorists who attacked the police post with a stun grenade.
Turkey has been in a heightened state of alert since launching a "synchronized war on terror" following terrorist attacks carried out by the PKK and Daesh.
