A truck caught fire on Tuesday inside the Bolu Mountain Tunnel that is located on the Trans European Motorway (TEM) that connects Turkey's largest metropolis Istanbul and capital Ankara.
The tunnel was closed to traffic from both directions as a truck carrying textile products bound to Ankara caught fire due to unidentified reasons.
As the fire was extinguished, the Istanbul direction of the tunnel was reopened to traffic. Ankara bound vehicles are being directed to exit the highway in Kaynaşlı intersection to D-100 state road.
Efforts to cool down the burning truck and remove the wreckage still continue in the tunnel.
