Türkiye’s Ministry of Family and Social Services provides free family counseling services across all 81 provinces to help families cope with problems, strengthen communication and preserve family unity.

According to a statement from the ministry on Sunday, the services are designed to help family members address challenges together, better understand one another, improve communication and develop solutions to problems within the household.

The counseling program emphasizes mutual understanding, effective communication and joint problem-solving as key tools for addressing disagreements and communication difficulties.

It also aims to strengthen families’ ability to cope with challenges and help maintain an environment of trust within households.

The ministry is also working to raise awareness about where and how families can access counseling and the situations in which professional support can be beneficial.

Training programs for professional staff providing counseling are being continued to improve their knowledge and skills, while efforts are also underway to strengthen the specialist workforce and enhance the quality of services offered to families.

The ministry has previously highlighted family counseling as part of its broader family-strengthening policies, with counseling services designed to improve family communication and provide preventive and supportive assistance.

Families in need can access the services through professional specialists working across all provinces. Counseling is provided free of charge through Provincial Directorates of Family and Social Services, Social Service Centers and Family Counseling Units.

The ministry has also expanded efforts to make social services more accessible, with Social Service Centers providing preventive, supportive, guidance and counseling services in a single location.

Citizens can apply for family counseling services through Türkiye’s e-Government portal, allowing families to seek support without having to pay for the counseling.
