Alo 182, the hospital appointment line, remains the most frequently called short number in Türkiye, according to data from the Information and Communications Technologies Authority (BTK).
BTK's Electronic Communications Sector Report for the second quarter shows that 182 was the most frequently called short number among the three mobile operators in Türkiye.
Alo 182 was also the most-called short number during the same period last year.
Short numbers are used for public services requiring easy access, including emergency services, public safety and health services. Other widely used lines include 112, the Emergency Call Center, and 185, which handles water outage reports.
For Turkcell and Türk Telekom users, 112 was the second-most-called short number after 182. For Vodafone users, 186, the electricity outage line, ranked second.
Other numbers among the five most frequently called short numbers across operators included 185 for water outages, 153 for municipal services and 170, the Labor and Employment Communication Center.
While 182 was the most frequently called line, Alo 170 recorded the longest average conversations across the three operators. The line handles questions from workers on issues including working hours and sick leave payments.
Alo 112, Türkiye’s emergency call center, had the shortest average call duration among the three operators, followed by Alo 186, the electricity outage line.
