by Daily Sabah

As operations against the PKK continue in several provinces in the southeast, security forces located and destroyed 400 kilograms of explosives planted in the 112 Health Emergency Command Center in Şırnak on Friday.

Posing a threat to security forces and civilians as well as health workers who treat wounded soldiers and police officers in local hospitals, the PKK has targeted many doctors and health workers, killing many since the PKK began its armed offensive.

Security forces dismantled explosives that had been planted in houses in the town center yesterday. Since operations began, 227 terrorists have been killed and 675 explosives have been destroyed in the province.

In Bingöl province, security forces seized a terrorist safe house and stores of ammunition buried in the ground, including thousands of bullets, dozens of rifles, camouflage and equipment for communication.

Elsewhere in the southeastern province of Tunceli, the media reported on Friday that three soldiers died and many others were wounded after bombs planted by the PKK exploded there.

TL 829,718 compensation for terror victims

Diyarbakır governor Hüseyin Aksoy announced yesterday that the 640 citizens affected by terror attack on a military outpost on April 11 in the Hani district of the province were paid TL 829.718.06 ($292.83) compensation.

He also said that the 13 families with financial difficulties who suffered from this attack have also received TL 7,700 from local foundations.
