Four municipal mayors from the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) were discharged from the party on Friday due to their ties with the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), as part of the investigation following the failed July 15 coup attempt.
The decision was announced by AK Party spokesman Yasin Aktay. Those discharged were the mayors of Aşkale, Çamoluk, Ilgın and Nar; districts in Erzurum, Giresun, Konya and Nevşehir respectively.
"The dismissal was carried out after ties between these personnel and FETÖ were detected," said Aktay.
