The governorate of southeastern Diyarbakır province have rejected earlier reports suggesting that authorities have been assigned in the municipalities of Sur and Silvan districts, whose officials have earlier been suspended to duty due to links with the PKK terror group.
A trusteeship assignment has not taken place at this period, the governorate's statement said, adding that a statement will be made public if trustees are assigned.
Earlier reports suggested authorities have been appointed in the municipalities which had been suspended due to self-rule declarations.
The mayors of two districts in southeastern Diyarbakır province had been taken into custody following the alleged declarations.
