The mayor of the Hani district of Diyarbakır province was arrested on Friday after an investigation was launched by the Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor's Office for links to the PKK and KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) terror organizations. The mayor Abdurrahman Zorlu, from the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), which is a local affiliate of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), was detained on Sept. 8 due to "being a member of an armed terror group." Zorlu was arrested after the trial at the Court of Peace.
